My name is Kerri Barella and I am the only incumbent candidate seeking election for the Marlborough Board of Education. I have four children with my husband Chris, whom sits on the Board of Finance. Prior to moving to Marlborough in 2015, we lived on Long Island, although originally from the greater Philadelphia area. I graduated with an MST in Collaborative Education, and began teaching in 2009. I was a Special Education teacher, as well as a Behavioral Consultant prior to having my children. Since then, I have dedicated myself to raising our family and supporting the youth of our community. Over the course of the last 8 years, I have served on many boards: BOE, MCNS, AHM CHEC Coalition, School Advisory Council, School Re Opening Task Force, the RTC and Moms Club of Marlborough, just to name a few. While serving on these Boards, I have held many leadership roles such as President, Chair, Vice Chair, Secretary, and Treasurer. I have been a RHAM Youth Lacrosse Coach, room parent, field trip chaperone, and parent volunteer more times than I can count. Supporting our children and community by being involved is the best way to help make educated decisions that will impact our youth. I believe in full transparency and having a good heart as an elected official in our community. Many community members have reached out to me over the course of my representation. I’d like to think that it means I am approachable, and also reliable in supporting my constituents to the best of my ability. I welcome conversations should anyone want to reach out, I kindly ask for your vote and support on November 7th!
